I haven't been that active around here for a while, but that's because I've been planning my exhibition for the last two months or so. It starts on monday the 18th and lasts for about two whole weeks, which is one week more than my last major exhibition.
I've been busy doing the usual exhibition related stuff like printing leaflets, booking a gallery, purchasing supplies, calling newspapers, going insane, and of course, painting. The whole thing will consist of seven [7] large paintings tied together by a common theme. I'm using two "old" paintings, but they are both painted in the last six months and fit the theme perfectly, the remaining five are all new.

I'm exhausted, but content. I will be hanging the paintings tomorrow, and after that I can only hope that the leaflets and the newspaper ads have done their job and attract a lot of visitors, and that I get good reviews.

I wouldn't have made it without the help and support of NephrenKa, thank you, my love.

Wish me luck guys, and if you have the opportunity you're welcome to stop by.

My work has been selected by Nergling as part of the UA data base. These images will be publicised in DA chat rooms as well as on a monthly feature, found in the front pages of DA.

I've also been selected as one of Nergling's 4 selections for the first edition of the RAPP project. The RAPP (Recognising Artistic Potential Project) aims to "give further exposure to deviants who are found to have a full gallery worthy of recognition".

Well, what can I say, I'm honoured.
And I do have to admit that although I by no means measure success by how many hits I get on DA, it does sometimes bug me when I work for days or even weeks on a painting only to get buried in other peoples 5-minute-drawings when submitting it here.
It's frustrating, and when you get about one or two views on something you've worked hard on it makes you question what the hell you're doing here.

But maybe this UA/RAPP project will help, the selected paintings can be seen here:

It starts today.
Yesterday a journalist came by, and today, in a couple of
hours, I am to meet up with a press photographer.

The exhibition consists of 16 paintings, 7 of them made in the
last couple of weeks.

I'm nervous and feel sick.

My head hurts, and my back is killing me.

I've been planning my art exhibition for a few days now, designing and printing out leaflets, booking a gallery, answering and making phonecalls, participating in an interview for a local paper and of course, painting like a god damned maniac.
I just hope things calm down a bit so I can really concentrate on my painting and get some time off to really think it through.
The exhibition is in about three weeks, and I've only made a couple of paintings yet...
Usually I work best under pressure though, I just hope that proves to be true this time too.

A couple of hours for eating, sleeping and spending some time with my friends would also be very welcome.

Wish me luck.
